The collector’s background
The collector is Adam Weitsman. He founded and leads Upstate Shredding - Weitsman Recycling, a scrap metal recycler based in Owego, New York, with yards across New York and Pennsylvania.
His grandfather Ben founded the family business as Ben Weitsman and Son. Adam later acquired it from his father.
He began collecting American stoneware as a boy. He donated the collection to the New York State Museum, which exhibits it.
He once ran his own folk art gallery on Bleecker Street in Manhattan.
His family supports the Boys and Girls Clubs in Owego, Binghamton, Syracuse and Endicott. His grandfather helped found the Tioga club.
He and Clover Weitsman started Southern Tier Tuesdays. The program presented weekly grants to local nonprofits.

Doginal Dogs are pixel art inscribed on Dogecoin through the Doginals protocol. The collection was co-founded by Shibo and Bark.
DDMiami 2026 runs Dec. 7 to 9, 2026, in Miami. Arlo Wynwood serves as the primary hotel and the schedule remains subject to change.
Dec. 7 includes the Swag Drop and Welcome Party at Higher Ground at Arlo Hotel from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Rooftop Kick-Off follows from 8 to 11 p.m.
Dec. 8 features Rip and Sip at Collectors Club from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dogs at Sea takes place aboard The Vessel with boarding from 7 to 8 p.m. and sailing until midnight.
Dec. 9 closes with the Hangover Hangout at Higher Ground from 9 a.m. to noon.
